This position is for an experienced Instrument and Control technician to support company and client needs. The job will consist of programming, installing, and troubleshooting I&C components on natural gas and oil facilities. This role will require travel to customer facilities.
Responsibilities
- Install, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain process instrumentation and controls systems
- Program, configure, and commission instrumentation devices including transmitters, analyzers, flow meters, pressure devices, temperature devices, and control valves
- Assist with startup, commissioning, and operational testing of industrial process facilities
- Perform loop checks, instrument verification, and functional testing of control systems
- Conduct Process Control Programming (PID Loop, Ramp, scale, etc.)
- Install and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, and communication network components
- Read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, control narratives, and equipment specifications
- Document field activities, testing results, calibration records, and commissioning reports
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, operators, and construction personnel to support project execution and facility operations
Ideal Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working with industrial instrumentation and control systems
- Associate degree in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical Technology, Automation Technology, or related field preferred
- Experience in natural gas, midstream, oil & gas, power generation, water treatment, or industrial processing facilities
- Experience installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting process instrumentation
- Familiarity with pressure, temperature, level, flow, and analytical instrumentation
- Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, loop drawings, and control system documentation
- Understanding of electrical fundamentals, control circuits, and instrumentation wiring practices
- Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and industrial safety requirements
- Ability to work independently in field environments while maintaining a high level of safety and professionalism
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Ignition, Wonderware, or similar control platforms
- Experience with RedLion Crimson 3.0 and Crimson 3.1, FactoryTalkView Studio, and C-More
- In-depth knowledge of communications protocols such as TCP/IP, Modbus (Serial and over TCP/IP), and HART
- Experience with multiple flow computers
- Experience with Remote Systems and Modems
