This position is for an Experienced Pipe Designer who will be responsible for developing piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and detailed construction drawings that support project deliverables, fabrication, and field installation. This role requires a candidate who has strong mechanical and piping experience, advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, and a solid working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D.

Responsibilities

• Develop piping and equipment layouts using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D based on P&IDs, PFDs, project specifications, equipment requirements, and direction from engineering or lead design personnel
• Create and maintain 3D models for piping systems, equipment, valves, fittings, skids, and other components into Plant 3D models
• Integrate vendor-provided equipment and components into Plant 3D models
• Prepare plan views, elevations, sections, isometric drawings, and detailed fabrication packages
• Design piping systems in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards
• Identify design conflicts, dimensional issues, constructability concerns, or inconsistencies within 3D models and drawings
• Prepare redline drawings, drawing markups, and design updates for internal review, checking, and client submittals
• Perform field walkdowns and site verification to support design development
• Assist with equipment arrangement, constructability reviews, and design optimization
• Support project managers and engineers during design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases
• Maintain drawing revisions and ensure deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules

Qualifications

• 5+ years of piping design experience in natural gas, midstream, industrial, petrochemical, or related industries
• Associate degree in engineering technology, drafting, design, or related field preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D
• Strong understanding of piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and drafting standards
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.8 piping codes
• Experience developing piping plans, sections, isometrics, and fabrication details for natural gas, oil, or industrial projects
• Working knowledge of valves, regulators, compressors, separators, filters, meter stations, and associated process equipment
• Ability to interpret PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and engineering calculations
• Experience performing field measurements and incorporating as-built information into design packages
• Strong communication and coordination skills with engineers, clients, vendors, and construction personnel
